Why should I go to the Tutoring Center?

The Tutoring Center offers free, individualized assistance to help you succeed in your courses. Whether you are struggling with the course content, unsure of how to complete your homework, or looking for tips on how to study well, our tutors are ready to help.

Student Success Program

SSP courses allow students to become active participants in their learning. Using research-based approaches, faculty engage SSP students in activities designed to promote their success. SSP courses are ideal for undergraduate students from all UMD colleges and departments who want to:

  • better prepare for college-level work.
  • gain leadership skills to increase college and professional success.
  • engage more deeply in their own learning and with the UMD campus community.

Appointment Information

Drop-ins are welcome at the Workshop, but to ensure that a consultant is available, you are encouraged to reserve an appointment. Consultants are trained to work with all writers on any project, but you may want to select a specific consultant based on that person's background.  Additional information about our appointment system and policies:
