Emily Woster

Assistant Professor, Lead Consultant in the Writers' Workshop

 

Emily serves as Lead Consultant in the Writers' Workshop and also teaches a variety of writing classes in the Department of English, Linguistics, and Writing Studies. Emily also taught English as a Second Language and tutored writing in a range of subjects for both traditional and non-traditional students at 2- and 4-year colleges. In addition to consulting with writers from across campus, she works with the Director of the Academic Writing and Learning Center, Jill Jenson, to offer a variety of writing-focused workshops for students (e.g., "Writing Successful Personal Statements") and faculty (e.g., "Success in Journal Publishing," "Creating Effective Writing Assignments"). Emily’s research and publishing interests include the author L.M. Montgomery, women’s life writing, and children's and adolescent literature.
